Meet Jennifer Boyer, Clinical Trial Manager at Confidence Pharmaceutical Research

For Jennifer Boyer, clinical research has always been about more than processes and protocols – it’s about people, decisions and the impact those decisions can have on patients’ lives.

As a Clinical Trial Manager at Confidence Pharmaceutical Research, she brings a strong combination of clinical insight and operational expertise to the delivery of complex clinical trials.

Jennifer’s journey into clinical research began alongside her nursing role, eventually transitioning fully into the CRO environment. Since joining Confidence as a Senior CRA, she has progressed through Lead CRA to her current role as Clinical Trial Manager, building deep experience across trial execution and team leadership along the way.

Her medical background continues to shape her approach today. Jennifer brings a strong understanding of clinical data, patient care, and risk identification, allowing her to anticipate challenges early and support teams in navigating them effectively.

“When you’re reviewing clinical data, you’re not just looking at numbers – you’re thinking about the patient behind it”

Equally as important is the team-based mindset she developed as a nurse – a belief that successful clinical trials rely on close collaboration across teams and disciplines.

“No one works in isolation in clinical research. It’s a team effort, and that’s what makes it successful”.

Her role evolves with each stage of a study. In early phases, she focuses on proactive planning and applying lessons learned to prevent issues before they arise. As studies progress, she supports CRAs, oversees quality and metrics, and works closely with sponsors to ensure alignment and delivery. Her approach is rooted in being proactive, detail-oriented, and solution-focused.

This partnership-driven, team-based approach is reflected in how sponsors experience working with her. During a recent study milestone, a sponsor recognized the level of thoroughness, dedication, and ownership demonstrated by Jennifer and her team, highlighting the value of working with a CRO team that is as invested in the study as they are.

Much of her work has been in oncology, including contributing to a drug that reached market after more than a decade of development and has improved both survival and quality of life for patients. This long-term impact, along with strong team collaboration, continues to motivate her work.

“Day to day it can feel like constant monitoring – but when you see the impact on patients’ lives, that’s what makes it all worthwhile”

At Confidence, Jennifer values the collaborative and supportive culture, where teams are encouraged to speak up and take ownership. She sees this environment as a key driver of both quality and job satisfaction.

Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys kitesurfing, playing the cello, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. As a mother of four, she values connection, balance, and creating meaningful experiences — something she also brings into her team environment.

At Confidence Pharmaceutical Research, Jennifer’s clinical background, leadership, and commitment to patient impact play an important role in delivering high-quality clinical trials.
